Dr. Altounian personally asked me for the DVD of my MRI and then examined it on his computer. He used the Radiologist’s report as a base but made a specific plan of where and how to put his needle for the epidural injection. The result was 100% pain relief. I unfortunately have experience with treatment for pain in the lumbar and sciatic area. Twenty-four years ago after an incredible pain in herniated disc and sciatica nerve, I went to the world-famous Dr Gabor B. Racz at the Texas Tech University Health Science and Pain Clinic. He performed the epidural treatment by placing a catheter in the right spot. The success was 99%. It lasted me for 15 years and allowed me to run four marathons. Then the pain returned – maybe because of aging, and heavy lifting. I am so grateful to Dr. Altounian for his kind and thoughtful concern for my health and for providing me with excellent medical care. His ability to handle the issue was enlightening. I went here to speak with Dr. Altounian about an arm and wrist problem I have been having. The office was clean and efficient, and I think I was actually seen at my scheduled appointment time, as opposed to waiting a while.
Dr. Altounian was very personable and attentive. He explained everything very clearly, laid out the probable course of action that should be taken, and even suggested that going to my neurologist was the way probably the better choice in my particular case. I certainly appreciated his honesty and candor.
Also, when I requested a copy of the visit notes from his office (to share with my neuro), they came very quickly, without jumping through hoops. All in all, a very positive experience. – L M.
