Dr. Dickran Altounian, DO MS, is a double board-certified physical medicine, rehabilitation, and pain management specialist with a deep understanding of the musculoskeletal system and its influence on quality of life.

A Los Angeles native, Dr. Altounian received Bachelor of Neuroscience and Master of Global Medicine degrees from University of Southern California (USC) before completing his pre-doctoral medical training and teaching fellowship (focused on Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine) at Western University of Health Sciences.

Following a medical internship at Chino Valley Medical Center, Dr. Altounian completed a three-year residency at McGovern Medical School (UTHealth Houston), where he focused on Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (Physiatry) and served as the program’s Chief Resident and Chief of Wellness. He then moved back to Los Angeles and completed an ACGME-accredited WLA VA Pain Medicine Fellowship at University of California Los Angeles (UCLA).

Dr. Altounian is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the International Pain and Spine Intervention Society, American Academy of Pain Medicine, and the Armenian American Medical Society. His work has been published in a variety of medical journals and presented at physiatry and pain medicine conferences throughout the United States.
